Stephanie Coreas was born in San Salvador, El Salvador. Note that she is extremely proud to also be Vicentina, (San Vicente, El Salvador) since her father and his family are from that beautiful town and not originally from the capital. Immigrating to Georgia in the 1980's, Estefania lived on Buford Highway for a short time during which she attended Oak Cliff & Woodward Elementary for her Kindergarten and first grade years. In 1994 her family moved to Stone Mountain, Ga where she attended Hambrick Elementary, Stone Mountain Middle, and Stone Mountain High School. Stephanie always carries Stone Mountain in her heart saying "I wouldn't be who I am today if it weren't for growing up as a little Salvadoran girl on "Da Mound," the mountain. 

 

When asked why she works with Vecinos, she said, “I work with Los Vecinos de Buford Highway because it has always been very important to me to give back to my community, especially to those most in need. I feel very fortunate to be part of such a wonderful organization and to work with human beings who are so passionate about making a tangible, measurable difference in our community.”
